【摘要】:Determinationofthecolorofpetroleumproductsisusedmainlyformanufacturingcontrolpurposesandisanimportantqualitycharacteristicsincecolorisreadilyobservedbytheuseroftheproduct.Insomecasesthecolormayserveasanindicationofthedegreeofrefinementofthematerial.Whenthecolorrangeofaparticularproductisknown,avariationoutsidetheestablishedrangecanindicatepossiblecontaminationwithanotherproduct.However,colorisnotalwaysareliableguidetoproductqualityandshouldnotbeusedindiscriminatelyinproductspecifications.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthecolorofrefinedoilssuchasundyedmotorandaviationgasoline,jetpropulsionfuels,naphthasandkerosine,and,inaddition,petroleumwaxesandpharmaceuticalwhiteoils.Note18212;FordeterminingthecolorofpetroleumproductsdarkerthanSayboltColorx2212;16,seeTestMethodD1500.1.2Thistestmethodreportsresultsspecifictothistestmethodandrecordedas,x201C;SayboltColorunits.x201D;1.3Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsorinSIunitsandwhicharenotinparenthesesaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Note28212;Oiltubesandapparatususedinthistestmethodhavetraditionallybeenmarkedininches,(thetubeisrequiredtobeetchedwith1/8in.divisions.)TheSayboltColorNumbersarealignedwithinch,x00BD;in.,x00BC;in.,and1/8in.changesinthedepthofoil.ThesefractionalinchchangesdonotreadilycorrespondtoSIequivalentsandinviewofthepreponderanceofapparatusalreadyinuseandmarkedininches,theinch/poundunitisregardedasthestandard.HoweverthetestmethoddoesuseSIunitsoflengthwhenthelengthisnotdirectlyrelatedtodivisionsontheoiltubeandSayboltColorNumbers.ThetestmethodusesSIunitsfortemperature.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.^
